Diplomatic strategies and intelligence shadows: international relations of Spanish student organizations during the Cultural Cold War (1945-1969)

From the perspective of the Cultural Cold War, the article analyses the relations of Spanish students, both anti-Francoist and leaders of the Sindicato Español Universitario (SEU), with the International Student Conference (ISC) and, in the first case, also with the International Union of Students (IUS). Using documentary, newspapers sources, and biographical testimonies, the study concludes that the institutional connections were symbolic, limited, and with little influence at the national level, unlike other types of international concomitances such as personal links established outside the organizations, where contacts were more fluid.
