Consequences for Local and Territorial Development of the Ebola Epidemics in Africa

Societies affected by Ebola epidemics undergo changes at both the national and local levels, as demonstrated here by the study of statistical indicators that inform on the human and economic dimensions of local development, for which data are available from before and after the epidemics. The results show that, during Ebola epidemics, the Human Development Index, Life Expectancy at Birth, the Gini Index, childhood vaccination, agricultural and industrial production or per capita income experience a general worsening with a diversity of nuances at the local level.
