Este artículo tiene como objetivo estudiar la relación que entablaron las Filipinas con el sultanato de Macasar, en articulación con el sector mercantil portugués, durante el siglo XVII. Partiendo de un análisis de la difícil integración hispana en el mundo malayo, reconstituye la progresiva estructuración de las conexiones entre los españoles y el emporio sulawesiano, para estudiar finalmente las modalidades de estos intercambios en su fase de mayor intensidad, entre los años 1640 y 1660, época de la independencia de Portugal y del decisivo avance de la VOC neerlandesa hacia la imposición de su monopolio comercial sobre el Este insulindio. / This article aims to study the relationship between the Philippines and the Sultanate of Makassar, in coordination with the Portuguese trading community, during the 17th century. Starting with an analysis of the difficulties of Spanish integration into the Malay world, it recounts the progressive structuring of connections between the Spanish and the Sulawesi emporium. The article ultimately focuses on the modalities of these exchanges in their phase of greatest intensity, between the years 1640 and 1660, era of Portuguese independence and the decisive advance of the Dutch VOC in its imposition of a commercial monopoly on East Insulindia.
