The Revitalization of Agri-Food’s Industrial Heritage: The Silos of the “Titans Project” in Ciudad Real, Spain

The vertical grain silos are buildings clearly representative of the agri-food industrial heritage given their historical, technical, scientific values, etc. In Spain, the Red de Silos y Graneros grouped 667 within the interventionist policy of the Franco dictatorship that were active until Spain's entry into the European Union. Today, a large majority are abandoned and some have been rehabilitated for other uses (cultural, administrative,...). We present those that have been included in the Titanes Project, an original proposal for valuing silos through street art in nine towns in the province of Ciudad Real.
