La diáspora africana es un espacio clave desde el que pensar el lugar de África en el mundo, comprender la agencia de los actores africanos y sus constreñimientos, y visibilizar tanto las configuraciones globales de poder como la impronta del racismo en ellas. Adoptando el comprensivo prisma analítico del concepto sankofa y sirviéndose de un esfuerzo de reflexión sostenido sobre la revisión de la pertinente literatura, este texto examina la diáspora africana, con sus cambios y continuidades, como un lugar epistémico relevante para explicar, deconstruir y reconfigurar la historia de las relaciones internacionales. Y concluye propugnando un mayor reconocimiento de la agencia de la diáspora africana para pensar críticamente las estructuras de poder globales y superar la mirada eurocéntrica de las relaciones internacionales.
